The homes of the inocent. To these three groups there is no such thing as inocent. Everyone in their way is worthless. Thats the way they see it as for any of three ways many people will be killed. If the Leaf village were to fall Orochimaru would be victorious and have no problem distroying the rest. If all of the deamons were to be captured...
Then the Akasuki would be victorious and distroy everything. If those fail and winter were to come. The Hougyokou would be at full power and Aizen would pretty much previal. Eithar of these ways the Shinigami and Shinobi would lose. There is no way, that the Shinigami nor the Shinobi would allow that to happen. That is why we must come together and...
Plan for the road ahead will be brutile. No matter what though...DO NOT GIVE UP!!! PUT ALL YOU'VE GOT INTO IT!!! FOR THE SAKE OF BOTH OUR WORLDS!!! WHO'S WITH ME!?

{Hokage} Uzumaki Naruto {... that is my dream.} « Result #6 on Jan 1, 2008, 3:40pm »
Name: Uzumaki Naruto
Gender: Dansei
Age: 12 [Born on October 10th]
Rank: Genin
Home Village: Konohagakure
Personality: Before graduating from the Ninja Academy, Naruto had a fierce desire for attention. As a result, Naruto would prank the villagers and vandalize the monument that depicted the Hokages, Naruto's skill in ninjutsu was very limited at the beginning of the series, his most dangerous jutsu being his "Sexy Technique"; transforming himself into a naked female version of himself simply to stun his male instructors, even stunning the Third Hokage on several occasions. Naruto is determined to achieve the rank of Hokage for recognition. When he graduates and learns under an official ninja master, he becomes the "Number One Loudest, Unpredictable, Hyperactive Knuckleheaded Ninja" of Konoha, as described by his teacher Kakashi Hatake.
Naruto's exuberant personality and fiery desire for self-improvement strongly impacts the lives of those around him. At the beginning of the series, Naruto befriends Konohamaru, the grandson of the Third Hokage, and it is through his brief tutelage that Konohamaru learns that the path to success is through hard work. Despite his brash, headstrong, and even slightly dumb nature, Naruto is a clever prankster who overcomes his opponents through a combination of willpower, clever diversions, and often, dumb luck (though as Kakashi states, luck is very important).
Naruto has a great sense of humor, albeit somewhat perverted in some cases, and smiles and laughs at most times. Despite this at times, he smiles to hide whatever is bothering him so no one worries about him; those who are closest to him see right through it. Outside his world, he's just an ordinary, loud, hotheaded kid with a fierce will and a knack for getting into trouble. Naruto also has a less keen sense of etiquette than many of his peers do, typically saying what he means regardless of how he believes the listener will react to it, and rarely using honorifics for people. While most people call Tsunade "Tsunade-sama", ("Lady Tsunade" in the English dub) he refers to her as "Tsunade-baachan", ("Granny Tsunade", or "Grandma Tsunade" in the English dub), taking a jab at her age.
One of Naruto's hobbies is gardening, even though Naruto was beaten in episode 20 for not knowing the difference between weeds and herbs, though this may have been due to carelessness in his effort to outdo Sasuke Uchiha. He is the one who gives Kakashi Mr. Ukki, the plant seen on Kakashi's windowsill. Kishimoto once described how he had the same plant for a while until he fed it undiluted plant food.
In the Japanese versions, Naruto often ends his sentences with "dattebayo," and as such has a unique style of speech. In manga and anime, characters are frequently given speech quirks (rather than pure dialect/speech variations) in order to make them sound childish, girlish, tough, cute, and the like. The "-ttebayo" suffix is used to emphasize something the speaker already said, primarily as an attention-getting device among children. Throughout the beginning of the series, Viz replaced the ending with the phrase "Believe it!" to mirror the effect, as well as to match the character's lip movements, though they seem to have abandoned its use as of late.
Despite rapidly maturing throughout the series, Naruto retains a naive streak and a knack for childish accessories. For example, his pajamas always include a comical black nightcap with eyes and teeth. Naruto also keeps his money in a chubby, green-frog wallet he affectionately calls "Gama-chan".
Naruto is an avid eater with an appetite comparable to Choji Akimichi's. His favorite food, ramen, serves as a bond between Naruto and anyone who would treat him to it. In several episodes, he can be seen devouring enormous servings of ramen in a variety of flavors. However, an opportunity to eat any sort of food usually leaves Naruto lying down and exclaiming, "Whew, I ate too much!" with an exaggerated pot belly.
Though Naruto is usually quite dense in most cases, which usually often results in Sakura Haruno hitting him, missing details that are obvious to the viewer and many other characters, he can actually be quite observant when he wants to be, or the subject interests. During their first meeting with Rock Lee, it is Naruto who points out to the rest of Team 7 that Lee's handwraps hide his battered and bruised knuckles, indicating Lee is the type of person who trains non-stop.
Naruto's perpetual determination and refusal to back down has been known to rub onto other characters from time to time. Naruto's cheering has rekindled spirits of fighters in hopeless situations, most notably Hinata Hyuga, whose admiration for Naruto's persistence causes her to develop a crush on him. Naruto's willingness to risk death to save his friends has even carried onto Gaara, a previously impulsively murderous child who also is host to a demon. Under Naruto's positive influence, Gaara has become more aware of lives other than his own, to the point that he would sacrifice himself for his village. Naruto's numerous monologues about the values he holds dear have inspired changes of heart in many more of his opponents, notably Zabuza Momochi and Neji Hyuga.
Although Naruto grew up in isolation, Kakashi notes that he has an ability to make friends with everyone he meets, and often quickly changes how they view him. While Kurenai Yuhi thinks that Naruto has no chance to defeat her student Kiba Inuzuka in the Chunin exam preliminaries, her opinion of him gradually changes as Naruto withstands Kiba's attacks and outwits him, and Kurenai finally admits to herself that Kiba should not be ashamed of losing to Naruto. This ability to find friends sets Naruto apart from others who had lived in isolation, and Naruto suspects that without this ability, he would have become like some of the evil people he faced.
In Naruto: Shippūden, after a two-and-a-half year time skip, Naruto shows physical growth and sports a new outfit. Naruto is now noticeably taller than Sakura, (In Part I, he is made fun of for being shorter than her) and some of his other friends, (Kiba even states Naruto has become a "giant"). However, Naruto is still a Genin, since he hasn't had a chance to take the Chunin Exams again, while the rest of the Konoha 11 have become Chunin, and Neji subequently becomes a Jonin. He is initially jealous that Gaara has become the Fifth Kazekage- thereby achieving the equivalent of Naruto's lifelong dream- but is happy for him. According to Tsunade, Naruto is also slowly adopting some of Jiraiya's perverted traits. During his apprenticeship under Jiraiya, Naruto was able to read ten pages of the latest of the "Icha Icha" series written by Jiraiya, although when he presents a copy to Kakashi, he says he thought it was boring.
Naruto appears to not only have increased in strength, speed, and techniques, but intelligence as well; Kakashi had even said that Naruto has become more cunning. During his training, Kakashi remarks that he believes Naruto will surpass himself as well as the Fourth Hokage and later, even sees a vision of the Fourth Hokage around Naruto. After Naruto shows off the results of his special training, Kakashi admits that Naruto has surpassed himself.
Appearance: Naruto is famous for his orange jump-suit, which is worn as a separate shirt and pants. The collar is white, and sometimes mistaken to be fluffy. He wears his hitai-ate on his forehead, keeping his blond, spiky hair together. As many other ninja, Naruto wears blue, heel- and toeless sandals. Bright blue eyes decorate his face, and scar-like whisker marks on both of his cheeks.
When in 'Kyuubi' mode, Naruto's hair gets more ruffled, and wild-like, his eyes get smaller, and more kitsune-like. He grows out his canines and nails longer than before. The whisker-marks become thicker, and Naruto's blue eyes become deadly red.
History: Naruto was born on October 10 in village of Konoha to Kushina Uzumaki. When Naruto was a newborn infant, the powerful nine-tailed demon fox attacked his village. In order to save the village from destruction, the demon fox was sealed in Naruto's newborn body by Minato Namikaze, who sacrificed his life to do so. While it is not outwardly stated, it is heavily implied that Minato Namikaze is Naruto's father. The current whereabouts of his mother are not known.
Despite the Fourth Hokage's dying wish that Naruto be viewed as a hero for serving as the container for the demon, the adult villagers of Konoha harbored a fierce hatred for him. Many believed that Naruto and the demon were one and the same and openly displayed an abhorrence towards Naruto, thus leading to the unknowing village children picking up the adults' hatred. However, no one told Naruto about what his body harbored until he was twelve years old, leaving him confused for most of his childhood as to why the villagers of Konoha treated him with hostility.
Naruto is seen to be a prankster and a loner. He lives alone in a small apartment and has supposedly done so for years. Even though Naruto was treated as an outsider, he was befriended by his compassionate ninja instructor named Iruka Umino when he was twelve. Although Iruka's own parents perished during the battle with the demon fox, he refused to view Naruto as the cause of their deaths. Instead, Iruka attached himself to Naruto because he was similarly isolated after the death of his parents. Naruto was deeply moved by Iruka's kindness and confidence in him. As a result, Naruto now values Iruka as a father figure, as well as an instructor.
Known Jutsu:Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique This jutsu is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily boost the user's reflexes. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance between the user and their intended destination.
Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Replacement Technique) This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. Explosive tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise.
Kakuremino no Jutsu (Cloak of Invisibility Technique) This jutsu allows a ninja to take a cloak or a piece of cloth and blend into an object, making them invisible.
Konbi Henge (Combination Transformation) An advanced form of the Transformation Technique, the Combination Transformation transforms two users into one being. One user usually provides the chakra while the other performs the necessary hand seals.
Kufū Suika no Jutsu (Kufū Suika no Jutsu) This jutsu combines Yamato's Water Release: Rapid Crasher with Naruto's Wind Release: Rasengan to create a powerful waterspout.
Jibaku Fuda: Kassei (Exploding Tag: Activate) Utilizing chakra, the user is able to activate the explosion mechanism of a distant bomb tag.
Katon: Gamayu Endan (Fire Release: Toad Oil Flame Bullet) Gamabunta spits out a large amount of oil, which is then ignited by the user.
Ōdama Rasengan (Great Ball Rasengan) This is simply a larger and more powerful version of the Rasengan, but also more unstable. Naruto needs a clone to form and control the energy.
Hāremu no Jutsu (Harem Technique) This jutsu combines the Shadow Clone Technique and the Sexy Technique to create multiple clones of a beautiful, nude woman.
Tajū Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu) This jutsu is basically a massive version of the Shadow Clone Technique. Instead of a few clones, it creates a few hundred clones (or a number of equal grandeur). This is considered a forbidden technique, because it can potentially be dangerous to the person performing it, seeing as how all of the clones are given an equal amount of chakra directly from the user.
Rasengan The Rasengan is a technique invented by Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage after three years of development. It requires a very high level of chakra control. The Rasengan incorporates the chakra control learned from the tree-climbing and water-walking exercises to create a ball of concentrated, spinning chakra in the user's hand that is roughly the size of a softball. For training purposes, teaching the technique is broken into three steps. The first, emphasizing rotation, the user has to learn to pop a water balloon by spinning the water inside in multiple directions with their chakra. The second step, emphasizing power, they do the same with a solid rubber ball. Since the rubber is thicker and air is completely different from water, it forces the user to rely mostly on denser chakra to break it. The final step, emphasizing control, the user has to form a complete Rasengan by combining what they learned in the previous two steps and making a ball shape shell around the spinning chakra to hold it in regular shape. A regular balloon is often used to train making the shell. In Part II, Naruto develops an improved version known as the Great Ball Rasengan.
The Rasengan requires no hand seals to perform, instead relying entirely on the chakra control of the user. Once the user creates a stable Rasengan, however, it becomes self-sustaining, so the user does not need to provide any more chakra after forming it. The force of the spinning chakra grinds into whatever it touches, causing major damage. The force of the attack also causes significant internal injury. The user can also release the spinning chakra, creating a violent explosive force at the point of contact. The one drawback of the Rasengan, if it can be considered as such, is that it requires great chakra control. Of course, this will not be a drawback if the user has learned the technique, because they already possess the necessary chakra control. It can be a problem if some force is disrupting the user's ability to mold chakra. Unlike the Chidori, there is no definite limit to the amount of times this technique can be used in a day. Because it uses far less chakra in comparison, it doesn't carry the same over-use risk as the Chidori, either.
Despite the Rasengan being a one-handed technique, Naruto actually uses three or more hands to form it (his one hand makes a shell and his clones spin the chakra) in the first part of the series due to his poor chakra control (which would require spinning it several directions), but in the second part of the series Naruto has been shown to be capable of making a one-handed Rasengan, though he still prefers using clones. When Naruto accesses his tailed transformation states, he can form the Rasengan with one hand by using demon fox chakra to form the shell, which likely provides better control and power. It also forms irregularly and grows as it mixes with the demon fox's chakra, giving it a purple color, which was equal to curse-seal powered Chidori.
Nawanuke no Jutsu (Rope Escape Technique) A basic jutsu taught at the Konoha Ninja Academy, this jutsu allows a ninja to free themselves if they have been tied up.
Oiroke no Jutsu (Sexy Jutsu) This is simply a Transformation Technique used to transform the user into a beautiful, nude woman. Naruto uses it to distract his instructors, sometimes leading to an exaggerated nosebleed by the victim, and it is indeed annoyingly effective; even the Third Hokage swooned when Naruto used it on him.
Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Jutsu) Similar to the Clone Technique, this jutsu creates clones of the user. Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies, not illusions. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. They can also disperse on their own. Unlike other clones, they can't be detected by the Byakugan because the clones have the exact same amount of chakra and aren't made from any other substance, making them indistinguishable from the actual person. Sasuke Uchiha claims that the Sharingan can tell the difference during his battle with Naruto at the Valley of the End; however, in a battle between Itachi and Kakashi Hatake it was shown that the Sharingan does not reveal the original with just a glance; the Sharingan user would have to focus on his target.
Any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. This makes the technique ideal for spying, since the user can simply send a clone to spy on a target, then have the clone disperse itself without returning to pass the information back to the user. It's also useful for training purposes, since the total amount of experience the user gains is multiplied by the total number of clones being used to train. Using it in this manner is far more difficult, however, since a large number of clones are needed to make a significant difference in the training time. It's unclear if other types of clones possess this advantage.
This technique is considered dangerous because of the manner in which the clones are created. Because the user divides their chakra among the clones, the user could potentially use up all their chakra fairly quickly if the user is low on chakra or makes too many clones, such as Naruto does with Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, this jutsu's enhanced (and forbidden) form. Naruto is able to use this technique to the extremes that he does because of his tailed beast, the nine-tailed demon fox, which gives him an abnormally high chakra level. Even without the demon fox's chakra, Naruto can make quite a few clones, but nowhere near on the level he can when he has access to the demon fox's chakra. The technique can also be dangerous if the user is injured or has some otherwise debilitating physical condition at the time of the cloning, since all of the clones will be created in roughly the same state.
Kage Shuriken no Jutsu (Shadow Shuriken Technique) The user of this technique throws multiple large shuriken in such a way that the first shuriken hides the subsequent ones by blocking the line of sight. To the target, it appears as if only one shuriken was thrown.
Shihōhappō Shuriken (Shuriken From All Directions) Once Naruto clones himself using his Shadow Clone Technique, he and his clones throw a large number of shuriken from all angles at their opponent.
Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Jutsu) The basic form of all summoning techniques, this jutsu requires a contract made with blood, hand seals, and the user's blood to summon an animal from another dimension. As an alternative to the normal hand seals, the same contract that appears on the ground during the summoning can be drawn by hand and activated, producing the same result. The type of animal summoned is determined by the contract. The blood is used as a signature to make the contract, which can be written on a scroll or tattoo. Once summoned, the animal can perform a task or help the user in battle.
Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) This jutsu allows the user to assume the appearance of another person, animal, or object. This is one of the basic jutsu taught at the Konoha Ninja Academy.
Uzumaki Naruto Rendan (Uzumaki Naruto Barrage) This jutsu is Naruto's version of Sasuke Uchiha's Lion Combo, which he uses to defeat Kiba Inuzuka in the Chunin exam. Naruto uses his Shadow Clone Technique to make up for his lack of speed. In its debut, he makes four clones, which shout "U!" "Zu!" "Ma!" "Ki!" as they kick the opponent into the air, and the real Naruto finishes the combo with "Naruto Rendan!" and a kick from above. In the English dub, the corresponding shouts are "Na", "Ru", "To", "Uzumaki Barrage!" On each occasion Naruto has used this technique, he has performed it differently.
Uzumaki Naruto Nisen Rendan (Uzumaki Naruto Two Thousand Combo) This jutsu was made by Naruto to fight against the transformed Gaara. Basically, it is the same as the Uzumaki Naruto Combo, only 400 times larger. 1,999 shadow clones are formed, making 2,000 Narutos combined. Like the original, the clones shout the syllables of the technique, followed by the whole name, while performing it. Unlike the other, however, they end with punches instead of kicks. It is a technique requiring unbelievable amounts of chakra, but can easily pummel almost any opponent.
Fūton: Rasenshuriken (Wind Release: Spiraling Shuriken) A variation on the Wind Release: Rasengan, this jutsu reshapes the wind chakra used in the technique into a large, four-pointed shuriken. The sphere in the center remains intact. The technique is only half-complete, so it dissipates a few seconds after it is formed. Additionally, despite its shape, it can't be thrown like a shuriken. It has to be used against the opponent at point-blank range to work. If used successfully, however, it traps its victim in a swirling sphere of wind chakra that attacks the victim with blades so minuscule that they hit at the cellular level and sever the chakra and nerve channels, making it more like poison. It seems to be a dangerous jutsu for the user, as Naruto's arm suffered a limited amount of cellular damage in addition to multiple broken bones; repeated use could render him unable to use chakra altogether. Tsunade has prohibited Naruto from using this jutsu due to these possible consequences, but Naruto is confident that he knows his own limits.
Fūton: Rasengan (Wind Release: Rasengan) This jutsu combines Naruto's wind-based chakra with the Rasengan, maintaining the stability of the previous version while increasing its power by a significant degree. During his training, Naruto was able to create a massive crater in the ground. Unlike the regular Rasengan, which requires a single clone to help form the sphere, this version requires a second clone to shape the wind-based chakra. Despite the damage it can currently cause, the technique is still only half complete. A variation of this technique is the Wind Release: Spiraling Shuriken.
Other: Naruto is the host of the Kyuubi no Yoko.
Roleplay Example: Deep, exhausting breaths came from behind the large pinetree, as a blond, 13-year-old Genin had been sitting in front of it. Just earlier, he had been training his head off, just to practice his Kage Bunshin better. A large number of kunai had pierced the ground before him, and another dozen of shuriken had been struck to the tree trunks around.
One after another, sweat drops lingered down the whisker-marked face, clearly showing that the boy, Uzumaki Naruto was in fact, exhausted. Pretty unusual. "Surely you won't stop now, kit?" a deep growl said from within him. Naruto didn't answer. He admitted that it wasn't easy to practice for a long time, only using his own chakra reserves.
This training session was more like of a test to see how far he could go on his own, without the help of Kyuubi no Yoko.
Kuchiki, Rukia Application « Result #9 on Dec 7, 2007, 7:13pm »
TYPE OF ROLEPLAY; Canon
NAME; broken coda
AGE; 14
ROLEPLAY EXPERIENCE && WHERE;
Almost 5 years of roleplaying; individual sites are listed below [only the few that I can remember right now are mentioned; if you'd like, I'll list them all]:
MAJOR SPOILERS IN THIS PART OF THE APPLICATION. Rukia's history began when her older sister, Hisana, abandoned her when she was still a baby since she could not continue to support both herself and Rukia. Rukia grew up on her own until she met Renji Abarai and other children her age. They worked together to steal food in order to survive and became a makeshift family. During this time, Rukia and Renji showed signs of having spiritual power. While they initially opted against becoming shinigami, the death of all their friends prompted Rukia to suggest joining the academy for a better life.
At the shinigami academy, Renji was admitted into the top class and Rukia into the second ranked one. Renji and Rukia started growing further apart as Renji got further ahead in his training due to his elite status. The emotional distance continued until Rukia was asked to join the Kuchiki family. Renji expressed happiness for Rukia's opportunity but both did not admit that they disagreed with the arrangement since they would likely never see each other again. Rukia reluctantly joined the family and was immediately inducted into the 13th Division without having to graduate or take a squad entrance exam. Unknown to Rukia, Byakuya had adopted her in order to fulfill Hisana's last wish, who had also been accepted into the Kuchiki family as Byakuya's wife.
In the 13th Division, Rukia was not given a seat position. It is later revealed that this was due to Byakuya Kuchiki's influence, since he did not want her sent on dangerous missions. She became friends with the division lieutenant, Kaien Shiba, and greatly admired his wife, 3rd Seat Miyako Shiba. When Miyako was killed by a hollow; Rukia, Kaien, and the division's captain, Jushiro Ukitake hunted the hollow down. Kaien faced the hollow alone but the hollow's special ability destroyed his zanpakuto. Rukia attempted to draw her sword and help but was stopped by Ukitake. He told her that Kaien's fight was one of honor rather than a fight for his life. If Rukia helped, Kaien would be saved but his honor would be damaged forever. Meanwhile, the hollow entered Kaien and possessed him. Ukitake faced the hollow but his illness allowed the hollow the opportunity to attack Rukia. Kaien momentarily regained control and thrust himself through Rukia's zanpakuto. He thanked Rukia and Ukitake for letting him fight for his honor and died in Rukia's arms. Rukia brought the corpse to the Shiba family but was afraid to apologize since she felt guilty about her role in Kaien's death.
In both the anime and manga, we first see her while patrolling Karakura Town; Rukia enters Ichigo's room to do a soul burial on a spirit that had been following him. She is caught by surprise, however, when Ichigo kicks her, not expecting a mere human to be able to see and touch a shinigami. A hollow attacks Ichigo's house and Rukia is injured defending Ichigo from the hollow. Unable to fight, she tries to transfer some of her powers to him, only for Ichigo to sap nearly every ounce of her power instead. Thus endowed with shinigami abilities, Ichigo easily dispatches the hollow and Rukia leaves.
As a result of Ichigo's draining of her powers, Rukia is unable to return to Soul Society and is forced to live in a gigai given to her by Kisuke Urahara and wait for her powers to return. During this time, she convinces Ichigo to assume her duties and enrolls in Ichigo's high school. Unfortunately, Ichigo's new duties set off a flurry of activity both in the human and soul worlds. An increased amount of hollows come to the human world and are dispatched in one form or another by Ichigo, Rukia, and eventually a group of friends whose own powers awaken after prolonged exposure to Ichigo's increased abilities.
As Rukia remains longer in the human world, she begins to grow comfortable with the life she is living there. Fearing she is growing too attached to the human world, she runs away from Ichigo's house. Two shinigami from Soul Society, her childhood friend Renji and older brother Byakuya, come to arrest her and nearly kill Ichigo in the process. Fearing for Ichigo's safety, she begs him to forget about her, and returns to Soul Society as a prisoner.
After being brought to Soul Society, Rukia is imprisoned in a holding cell in the 6th Division and is sentenced to death. While Ichigo and his friends make their way into Soul Society, she meets Hanataro Yamada, who is assigned to clean her cell, and tells him about Ichigo and the human world. The circumstances of her sentence begin to look suspicious when the date is moved up not once, but twice, leaving the total grace period at twenty-five days instead of the normal thirty-five. Additionally, the Sokyoku, a massive weapon capable of instantly killing the strongest of shinigami and mainly used on those at captain level, is determined as the mode of execution. Days later, she is moved to the Shrine of Penitence which overlooks the Sokyoku. Renji oversees the transfer and informs her that a group of intruders has infiltrated Soul Society... one of them with orange hair.
During her time in the white tower, Rukia sees the intruders enter the Seireitei through the sky, is informed of Renji being defeated, and feels the moment when Ichigo and Kenpachi are both incapacitated. Three days before her execution, Ganju Shiba and Hanataro Yamada manage to disable the guards of the tower and break in. Upon seeing Rukia, Ganju realizes the shinigami that killed his brother was her and threatens to kill her. They are interrupted by Byakuya and, after some convincing from Hanataro, Ganju decides to face Byakuya to protect Rukia. He is nearly killed, but an interruption by Ichigo saves him. A subsequent interruption by Jushiro Ukitake and Yoruichi Shihouin saves everyone else, but Rukia is forced back in the tower.
Three days later, Rukia is taken out of the Shrine of Penitence to be executed. Along the way, she senses Renji being defeated again and is confronted by Gin Ichimaru. He offers to save her, Renji, and the intruders, but once Rukia begins to regain hope, he admits he is lying. She is brought to the Sokyoku and as her last wish, asks for the intruders to be brought back to the living world unharmed. The Sokyoku is released and is about to kill her before Ichigo blocks it with his zanpakuto. Ukitake and Kyoraku arrive and destroy the Sokyoku while Ichigo destroys the execution grounds. Renji arrives and Ichigo turns Rukia over to him while dealing with the remaining lieutenants and Byakuya.
Renji carries Rukia away but is stopped by Kaname Tosen, who teleports them back to Sokyoku hill. Aizen, Tosen, and Ichimaru reveal themselves as traitors and Aizen asks Renji to turn Rukia over. Renji refuses, but is easily defeated before Ichigo shows up. Ichigo is also defeated and Aizen reveals that he arranged Rukia's execution in order to retrieve the Orb of Distortion, a device that has the power to break down the barrier between the shinigami and the hollows. The Orb was placed in Rukia when she inhabited the gigai given to her by Urahara. Urahara had created the gigai to be untraceable, allowing the user to go unnoticed, and drain spiritual power rather than restore it. Had things gone as planned, Rukia would have simply become human. Aizen had planned to retrieve the Orb after Rukia's execution, but Ichigo's interference forced him to use a less harmful method devised by Urahara, which kept Rukia alive after removing the Orb. Despite being able to remove the Orb without harming Rukia, Aizen orders Ichimaru to kill Rukia anyway. She is saved by Byakuya, who pushes her out of the path of Ichimaru's attack. The remaining captains, humans, and lieutenants arrive as backup, but Aizen, Tosen, and Ichimaru are saved by hollows, who draw them into Hueco Mundo.
While Byakuya is being healed, he tells Rukia the truth about Rukia's sister and explains his insistence to kill her was due to a vow he made to himself to never break the law again. As Ishida, Chad, Ichigo, and Orihime prepare to depart for the human world, Rukia decides to finally ask for forgiveness from the Shiba family. She also decides to remain in Soul Society.
In the anime, Rukia returns to the real world just as the Bounts begin surfacing. She is not informed of this fact, instead sent under orders to fight hollows. Thus, she is surprised when she arrives in the real world during the middle of a fight between Ichigo Kurosaki and Yoshino Soma.
Once the battle is over, Rukia is brought up to speed and meets Urahara's three Bount-tracking modsouls. Ririn is jealous of Rukia's familiarity with Ichigo, while Rukia instantly takes a liking to Kuroud, who resembles Chappy the Rabbit in his plushie form. Rukia then spends most of her time in the real world with Ichigo and his group and starts to attend Ichigo's high school like she did at the beginning of the story, using an improved memory-altering device to convince them she was already attending school.
During a battle with the Bount Mabashi, she is possessed by his doll, Ritz. Ritz is able to force Rukia to assume her shinigami form and even rematerializes her zanpakuto, but doesn't use its released form. Orihime Inoue is able to undo the possession by using her powers to "reverse" the possession.
Later, Rukia accompanies Ichigo and the others to the Bount cave and finally returns to Soul Society with the others when the Bounts attack Soul Society. While heading back to her squad, she is attacked by Yoshi. She manages to evade Yoshi for a while with Ririn's help, but is injured and forced to submit when Yoshi takes a small child hostage. Yoshi slashes Rukia several times and stabs one of her legs, but Byakuya arrives in time to keep Yoshi from killing Rukia.
While recuperating in bed, Rukia overhears several servants mention Ichigo fighting with Jin Kariya at Sokyoku, and attempts to go to him. She encounters Renji as she is departing and, realizing her still weakened condition, asks him to take her to Sokyoku. She initially wants to help, but is convinced by Renji that it's Ichigo's fight. While watching the fight, she convinces Orihime to let Ichigo fight alone, since both Jin and Ichigo have similar backgrounds.
In the manga, the Bount arc doesn't exist and Rukia reappears after Ichigo's dismal defeat by the two arrancar. She reignites his ambition after to protect his friends and then drags him back first to Orihime Inoue, who had been previously injured because of Ichigo's failure. Afterwards, she makes her way to the Kurosaki household where the rest of the shinigami explain the current situation with Aizen. She easily overcomes D-Roy, a lesser arrancar, by using the initial release of her zanpakuto. Later on, however, a surprise attack by Grimmjow leaves Ichigo questioning his resolve again, and he leaves without informing her of his whereabouts.
Rukia talks to Orihime when the latter feels she is a burden due to hard words from Urahara. After Orihime sorts out some business with the vizard, Rukia takes her to Soul Society so they can train together and become stronger. After another attack from the arrancar in the real world, she returns ahead of Orihime and saves Ichigo from attack by Grimmjow. He breaks free and just as she is about to be killed by Grimmjow, Shinji Hirako interferes. Rukia remains curious about Ichigo's interactions with these "new people" [she is not aware of vizard situation], but is too distracted by her communication with Soul Society to do anything more.
Later on, she appears in Orihime's apartment to hear about her capture. As Ichigo vows to save Orihime, Rukia is denied that option and is taken back with the rest of the shinigami to Soul Society by Byakuya and Kenpachi.
Not long after Ichigo, Ishida, and Chad arrive in Hueco Mundo, Rukia and Renji manage to join them and end up saving them from a hollow attack. As usual, she greets Ichigo with a punch and tells him that he should have waited for her, reminding him that they are companions and part of a team. She also reveals that she received permission from her brother Byakuya, but not from General Yamamoto, to join Ichigo's mission to save Orihime from Aizen and the Espada. The group proceeds to Aizen's headquarters and, encountering a room with five exits, split up after vowing that they shall meet again alive.
Now alone, Rukia travels down her path with resolve, but stops abruptly at the sight of the ninth Espada, who appears to resemble Kaien, the previous vice captain to the thirteenth division. At first, the Espada fools her and claims that he is the Kaien she knew, and he makes up some story about how he was transported to Hueco Mundo after his 'death.' Rukia believes him, until her attacks her, and then she strikes back. She learns that Kaien's memories were handed over to the Espada, and proceeds to destroy him. In the end, it appears to be a standoff and a draw, as both opponents fall. Even when she's done, she remembers that Kaien told her not to die alone, and she desperately tries to live for that reason, so as not to let her friends down.
WHAT IS SPECIAL/UNIQUE ABOUT THIS CHARACTER?
Rukia is unique in her own way. At first sight, she seems to be a serious person because of her face expression; her elegance and beauty make her different from the rest. From the very beginning, we get to see her sense of work and responsability when she helps Ichigo and gives him her powers in order to save him and his family. She thinks and believes that her commitment as a shinigami is to protect everyone from the Hollows, even if it cost her her life, or in this case, her powers.
On the other hand, Rukia doesn't show her emotions at first; she is funny and she smiles and speaks like a sweet girl when Ichigo's friends talk to her, but she doesn't show her true self. She starts to reveal some of her emotions and thoughts at the same time that Renji and Byakuya go to the living world to take her back to Soul Society. However, while she is locked inside Soukyoku, we start to know more about her and her feelings, her past, her relationships, her worries; we finally get to know the real Rukia: she's a strong and a caring person, she cares about his friends, and she has a really interesting past.
Rukia needs to be saved and plays the role of a damsel in distress locked up in the white tower, but she is not defenseless. On the contrary, she's a really strong character. While she is alone she often thinks that she isn't good enough, that she isn't worth to be saved, and she is willing to die with the dignity and elegance that characterize her. She's not afraid of dying, which is a very unusual and strong trait in characters.
All in all, Kuchiki Rukia is a very interesting character. If not her courage and compassion, it's her subtle strength and liability that set her apart from the other characters.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO PLAY THIS CHARACTER?
Rukia is my favorite character in Bleach, and I think she represents an ideal heroine. She is strong and protective, yet also loving with a combination of all those other great qualities that I think I've already listed many times over in this application [xD]. I think it would be fun to roleplay the different ways she reacts to situations, and it would be nice to bring out all her unique qualities. Also, I enjoy writing about her, so it'd be an enjoyable experience for me, too. While she remains serious on the outside, she has her own inner turmoil and there is a crack in the hard shell of her solemnity; I'd like to bring that, along with all her other amazing qualities, out while roleplaying her.
HAVE YOU SEEN THE ANIME/MANGA? IF SO, HOW MUCH?
I'm all caught up with the latest chapter and episode... I think. I've read up to chapter 279 and seen up to episode 129.
WHY SHOULD WE PICK YOU?
I feel I could do a good job to portray Rukia as not only the serious woman she appears to be, but as her true self, too -- the vulnerable, caring, elegant, virtuous, and strong shinigami trying to suppress her painful past as well as remember it and live it each day. I'm a pretty decent writer [...I think] and I think I would be able to do a good job to bring out Rukia. I can express the feelings of characters in roleplays quite well, I think, and Rukia is one of those characters with many hidden feelings.
HOW OFTEN WILL YOU BE ONLINE?
Until early July, maybe four times a week; after July 4th, however, I'll be on several times a day.
HOW WOULD YOU PORTRAY THIS CHARACTER? WHERE WOULD YOU LEAD HER?
Well, since I'm applying for the canon role-play, I would portray Rukia just as she is in the anime and manga [I believe I mentioned this above, too.] I'd like her to get to be more expressive of the feelings she suppresses and to trust herself more. Also, I'd like her to be more comfortable and natural around the figures of authority that intimidate her [including and mostly referring to her brother.]. But most of all, I'd like to portray Rukia as herself, not the person she tries to be by hiding her feelings and sheltering her heart with mistrust.
SAMPLE POST;
The wind was a soft, tender whisper through the night, brushing the shinigami's cheek softly in passing. Her dark, violet-grey eyes grazed emotionlessly over the layout of land that lay so peacefully beneath her, and as she focused on individual areas, she remembered being there. Old memories brought the smallest of smiles to her lips, but the smiles faded, each after just a fleeting second. They had passed, just like the moments in which the memories took place. And if she got too absorbed in digging into her past, then the darker memories would come, and those, she did not ever want to think about in depth. Those would go untouched, hidden in the far recesses of her mind. And maybe, if she didn't try to remember them, they would finally go away, like a scar healed at last after so much time. Wasn't time supposed to heal everything? Or were her memories just an exception? Perhaps, there was no such thing as an exception, just what fades, and what doesn't. But all of this was just too complicated to take in, and Kuchiki Rukia completely ignored that matter, turning her head away from the city to look up at the large blue expanse of dark sky above her.
At the moment, Rukia sat perched atop the Kurosaki roof. Ever since Ichigo's family had accepted her plead to stay there, she had stayed in Yuzu's room. It was a change from Ichigo's closet, where she had stayed before, but she honestly didn't care. At least she had a place to stay while remaining in the living world.
The last time she had been in Karakura Town, before being taken back to Soul Society to be executed, Rukia had been preoccupied with making herself forget. Being with Ichigo caused her memories of Kaien-dono to resurface, and meeting up with Ichigo later in Soul Society before her execution had exposed them again. Sometimes, she wondered, did Ichigo know about her past? Ichigo had been through many things while she was locked away in that tower, helpless and pitiful. Just like she had been that other night. Through other people's pain, she had escaped from pain herself. But then, it came back full force, doubling itself over many times before hitting her. In the end, she had to face her past and was left with more guilt that anyone needed. But, looking back now, she was glad her 'life' had gone the way it did. Meeting Renji, being adopted by Byakuya-sama, being guided by Kaien-dono, meeting Ichigo... She was, for once, happy with the life she was leading.
A smile graced her thin lips, but this time, it didn't fade after just a moment. It remained there as Rukia shook her head, casting the thoughts away and laughing to herself without really laughing. That was something she did often. Sometimes, the most amusing things in life were the ones that you made amusing. Not that she had what would be considered a life anyway. Maybe every once in a while, though, a 'life' could do someone more justice that an actual life could.
It was one of those rare moments for the shinigami, to be sitting so calmly with the wind in her face and no Hollows or Arrancars to worry about. That was what she had been doing most of the time these days. But, at rare, singular occasions, Rukia would just become quiet. A person could only be super-charged for so long before needing to recharge. And during those silent, peaceful moments, Rukia did, technically, 'recharge' the strength she needed to keep herself going, to make sure that the memories she didn't want to remember were still locked in her head somewhere, just to make sure they didn't disappear completely. To just breathe in and out, knowing nothing was wrong, nothing disturbed, and everything perfectly at balance; that was what she needed to do. It assured her that the future ahead of her would be steady and simple, assured that she'd always be able to keep her thoughts and dreams. And it also assured that she would not need any silence for a long period afterwards, which was useful on many fronts, especially in Karakura Town, where there was not a single daytime moment without chaos, one that lasted for more that two minutes anyway.
For a long time, the slight girl sat there, the wind brushing back her ebony hair so that it was away from her purple-tinted eyes that shone in the darkness. They were pensive and relaxed, instead of apprehensive, which didn't happen often. No one really saw Rukia like this, and she had yet to know what would happen to people who disturbed her in her moments of peace. Perhaps she'd blow up in their faces, or maybe she'd just remain as serene as she was at the moment before their interference. And if the second one proved to be true, than maybe the person who interfered would be able to have a civilized conversation with the black haired shinigami... one that didn't involve either of them getting hurt, which would be kind of strange. But, Rukia's mind wasn't on those things, she was thinking about her memories... the memories she enjoyed remembering, the painful memories that guided her through the future, and the memories she had locked away. It was not easy, locking away those memories yet still trying to keep them there.
But, that was alright. Nothing was supposed to be easy anymore.
